Practice note: An overview of DC gambling laws

1. Registration with the DEC
All "gambling companies" ("gambling" itself not defined in legislation) must be registered with the DEC under s3(3) of the Casino Regulations Act.

When registering, the following details have to be given:

• The types of machines being used and,
  
• Trusted members which are "to tend" the gambling company
  

2. Audits by the DEC
The DEC will schedule an audit to inspect the gambling company upon registration under s3(4) of the Act.

Only the DEC can inspect a gambling company.
